Hey there,
just tried yesterday to upload some custom player-skins but didnt work Is there any way to use them (serverside, without having the textures on the home-pc) ?

i entered in a server that has custom player-skins and i didn't download anything. The server is called Mercenarios Latinos. I don't know how to do that, but you can ask there.

Server IP/Port: 64.22.86.162:10650 Its an 1.0 server with "modified" skins. In order to achieve this, they must have modified the suspect/swat default materialspec's located in Staticloadout.ini It's an easy trick, |KOS13|Floo has written a tutorial how to do it (in French) Go here for an english translation (provided by google, so not very accurate) This works pretty good but your options are rather limited. Being that its all serverside, you can only use textures/shaders that are provided in the game, no custom data. Also, there is no way to change the materialspec for the Pants and Vest of players wearing heavy armor. So if you plan on using this trick, keep in mind that player's wearing heavy armor won't be affected by the changes (except for the Face and Name materialspec, those apply to both light and heavy armor players) which only makes the game confusing and inconsistent. A "workaround" to this issue is to replace the heavy armor for light armor, but this means compromising the overall balance of the game, which IMHO is not worth it.

thank you very much. i have the problem that our server from 4netplayers.de reboots every day /cant change that/ So i have to modify the files every day Maybe its a good idea to include it in the Mark-Mod, because the modified .ini-file have to be replaced after reboot to the original otherwise players cant connect to the server *sry for my bad english*

Glad I could help djgecko, there is a simple solution to that. You could write a batch script to automate the copying of the modified files over the original and vice versa. I use this batch script on our server, it's not fully automatic, but it gets the job done. @echo off copy StaticLoadout.ini.modified StaticLoadout.ini /y start /D"C:\Program Files\Sierra\SWAT 4\Content\System" Swat4DedicatedServer.exe echo ====================================== echo Modified Staticloadout.ini copied echo Server is starting... echo Once the server is running, press any key to continue echo ====================================== pause copy StaticLoadout.ini.bak StaticLoadout.ini /y
The above batch file should be located in your SWAT 4\Content\System directory. It also requires you to create two additional files: StaticLoadout.ini.modified (file containing modifications) StaticLoadout.ini.bak (original file) If you need any more help with this, let me know.

Don't replace texture file, no-one can go on your server, and you can't replace the texture file while swat4server is open. All modification you must do is on staticloadout.ini file. Or maybe, autodownload the new textures package with a ftp server, i can do it with my foodwall map moded, but i can't with textures or static mesh. If someone know how to do

Keep in mind that Gez's Auto-Download mod needs to be installed on both client- and server-side.

Not possible. All of my clan can come, and they don't know what the Gez autodownload mod is.
BUT, some peapole can't come, why ? i don't know. Maybe they havn't the Tinyuz2.exe tool, or i don't know (downloaded the same time with the client mod).
